Lake Tahoe is an incredibly beautiful destination year-round, but it’s especially magical during the winter.  Located in both California and Nevada, you’ll find 9 ski resorts including Heavenly ski resort properly named for its heavenly views of the spectacular Lake Tahoe.  Resorts in the Lake Tahoe area are blessed with large annual snow falls which over the last five years have exceeded 450 inches a year!  

Palisades Tahoe is the largest of the Lake Tahoe ski resorts and boasts over 6,000 acres of terrain and over 270 ski trails.  The synergy of a vast terrain and lots of snow Palisades a popular ski resort destination.

 

There are lots of things to do off the slopes including, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, walking around Lake Tahoe, and competing in (or just watching) the polar bear swim.

Lake Tahoe and the city of Truckee offers some great shopping where you can find local art, jewelry, clothes, plenty of souvenirs and a plethora of dining choices.  Located in the town of South Lake Tahoe, just past the California line you will find many Nevada casinos. to test your luck.
