What Clothes Should I Pack & Wear for a Trip to Mammoth?
Mammoth Mountain is indeed "Mammoth" with over 3,500 acres of skiable terrain. It packs in 28 lifts, four ski lodges, a super pipe, several terrain parks for beginner to advanced, a vertical rise of 3,100 feet and an average snowfall of over 33 feet per year. The record breaking amounts of snow fall allow the resort to be open through Memorial Day and often 4th of July.
Mammoth is about a 6 hour drive from Los Angeles bringing many winter sport enthusiasts with beach party style attitudes from LA and San Diego. There are several great apes ski spots and a village with shops, restaurants, and bars. There is also a very small airport for those who don't want to do the drive.

Each winter the town of Mammoth holds its Night of Lights event, complete with a spectacular winter light show complete with a fireworks display and a torchlight parade, music and activities for the whole family.
