Sugarloaf is a ski area and resort located on Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, western Maine. It is the second largest ski resort east of the Mississippi in terms of skiable area and offers the only lift-serviced above treeline skiing in the East.
Sugarloaf released a new 10-year improvement plan will take the Sugarloaf experience to new heights. This includes investments in technology, 450-plus acres of new beginner and intermediate terrain with a high-speed lift, real estate developments, a tubing park, mountain bike trails, and more.
To get Sugar Loaf visitors can take a shuttle service from the closest 2 airports. At the resort a free shuttle service will transport guests to and from the base, back to accommodation.
The annual snowfall totals 200 inches. Sugar loaf has 1,230 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 2,820 ft. from a 4,237 ft. summit, 14 lifts that provide access to 162 trails and glades, 4 progressive terrain parks, including an experts-only park, and a Superpipe.
While there is no night skiing at Sugarloaf, the resort does have an outdoor center with an NHL-sized ice skating rink as well as a Nordic skiing center and the Turbo Tubing Park, which does offer night tubing on their four 1,000 ft. lanes.

The long season at Sugar loaf generally runs from around Thanksgiving through to mid-May. Guests can enjoy slope side lodging and dining. Sugarloaf has a number of dining options, from a quick slice of pizza, to barbecue on a sunny deck to fine dining after a snow cat tour.
