How LED Faux Fur Coats/ Vests Work
How do LED faux fur coats work?
Our LED faux fur coats use custom-developed LED light strips that were designed specifically for real festival wear. We tested what was already on the market and found nothing durable or flexible enough — so we created our own.
The LEDs connect to a single 12V rechargeable battery, producing smooth, seamless, flowing color patterns that move beautifully with your body through long nights outdoors.
Are LED coats heavy?
LED coats are slightly heavier than our non-LED coats, but that’s the trade-off for powerful, long-lasting lights. The added weight comes from the battery, which is necessary to keep the LEDs glowing all night.
That said, most people don’t notice the weight once the coat is on — and the visual impact of the lights more than makes up for it. If you want this level of brightness and run time, a little extra weight is part of the experience.
Where are the LEDs placed?
The LED light strips are integrated directly into the coat design, so they’re hidden within the faux fur and construction — not stitched on as an afterthought. This allows the light to flow evenly through the fur, creating that mesmerizing, color-shifting effect without stiff spots or awkward bulk.

How are the batteries stored?
The battery is stored in a dedicated interior battery pocket, placed intentionally so the weight is well-balanced and comfortable to wear.

Only one battery is needed to power each piece. The battery is rechargeable via a standard wall outlet and even includes a USB port, so you can charge your phone or other devices while wearing your coat.
How long do LED coat batteries last?
Battery life typically ranges from 6–8 hours plus, depending on the settings you choose. Brighter settings and solid colors — especially white — use more power, while moving or flowing color patterns are more energy-efficient and help extend battery life. Choosing dynamic patterns is the best way to keep your coat glowing longer through the night.
Cleaning & Care
Do I need to remove the LEDs & Battery for cleaning?
No — the LEDs do not need to be removed.
Yes — Remove the battery and magic controller (brain) tied to the lower inside left hem.
Our LED faux fur pieces are dry cleanable not waterproof, and the lighting system is designed to stay safely in place during proper professional cleaning.
You can spot clean any stains with water (NOT HOT), gentle detergent and air dry.
Safety & Festival Wear
Are LED faux fur coats safe to wear?
Yes. Our LED faux fur coats are designed for real wear in outdoor and festival environments. The lighting system is securely built into the garment, powered by a single rechargeable battery, and intended for long nights, movement, and comfort. Our LEDs products are safe, comfortable, easy and fun to wear.
Do the LEDs get hot?
No — the LEDs do not get hot. They may give off a slight, gentle warmth, which can actually feel nice in cold outdoor conditions, but they are not hot to the touch and are safe to wear for extended periods.
LED Coat, Kimono, Vest, Hood, & Blanket Instructions
Curious about how your Furrocious LED coat or vest works? Read the instructions and some helpful tips, below.
- First download your Magic LED app from the Google Play Store or from iTunes.
- Once the app is on your phone, make sure you Bluetooth is on.
- Look for channel SP105E and connect to it.
If it doesn’t connect, log out, reconnect, turn Bluetooth on/off and try again. Restart your phone if all else fails. - Connect the battery in your coat to the wire in the battery pocket, and turn the battery (batteries) on. “O” (Up is on.)
- If your battery has no charge, your lights will not turn on. Charge your battery and then turn them on. The battery takes 6-8 hours to fully charge.
- Furrocious styles run on 1 battery.
Battery Life, Color Settings, Cleaning
- Keep the brightness to 2 notches below full bright to power the LEDs the max time at a great brightness level.
- There are 200 color modes in your app. The Auto mode runs through all the modes. Mode 1 is rainbow (everyone's favorite).
- Solid colors drain the battery faster than color changing patterns. Solid White takes the most energy.
- Batteries last approximately 5 hours with your LEDs on random settings.
- Please us if you you have an issues with your LEDs. No electronic is free from a possible future glitch. We now have the knowledge to repair an LED strand by cutting out a bad LED and fusing the strand back together with some shrink tubes and a heat gun/hair dryer.
- Dry clean your Furrocious LED coat or vest at a reputable dry cleaner and it will look like new again.
- BEFORE YOU CLEAN YOUR LED fur, you must remove the Magic LED located in the lower left side seam of your garment. Untie it, disconnect it from the light strip, and detach the wire to battery. Also remove the all batteries. The LEDs are water-resistant and do not need to be removed to dry- clean your coat or vest.
- Do not submerge the LEDs in water.
- We encourage you to dance your heart out but remember to always handle your LED Furrocious with love and care it is still made with electronics that should be cared for like your phone.
LED Hat, & Scarf Instructions
Your LED Hat will shine for up to 17 hours, and your LED Scarf will glow for about 16 hours (depending on brightness and pattern settings). Both feature USB rechargeable batteries for convenience.
Control your lights with the included remote or via the Bluetooth app for endless color and pattern options.
